What causes anxiety and panic attacks? Part 4 – Conclusion

We have discussed over the past three articles various theories about how to treat anxiety and panic attacks and how different disciplines look at the condition from different angles.

We saw that the problem could be looked at as a mechanical issue that needed chemical intervention to fix it. We saw that the problem -which obviously involved feelings and thoughts – was considered a psychological one and need addressing from the point of view of reprogramming the mind.

And we looked at the third option where we saw that the mind and body are considered to work together and therefore a holistic answer – treating both the mechanical side and the psychological side is the way to go.

Well that is all very good. But what if we are missing something? What if all those answers depend on where the theorist is coming from. And what if another theorist looked at the problem from a totally different point of view?

First of all do we need a panic system at all. Of course we do. We have just as many threats today as we did centuries ago. They are different today. Car accidents, terrorism, theft, redundancy, so we need our natural anxiety and ability to panic as much as human beings have ever needed them. However the problem we do see with anxiety and panic attacks is that the system sometimes switches itself on for no apparent reason and then we dont know how to switch it off.

So perhaps what we need to solve the problem is a “switch expert”. And that is what I believe is the magic in the One Move Technique™. The magic of this system is that instead of fighting our way out of a panic attack we needed to use a totally different technique. Does it work? Apparently it has for thousands of people.

However a word of caution. We live in an age where everything is supposed to be instant.  We are impatient if the toast doesnt cook fast enough, if the car doesn’t start immediately and we have fallen into the unfortunate attitude that the answers we seek must be instant too.

That simply is not true. Most of us grew up in environments which were flawed and we have carried some flawed thinking into adulthood. Therefore look at the One Move Technique™ because it will give you relief very quickly – but if you really want to improve the quality of your ability to handle life successfully, then you need to study and implement the anxiety reducing strategies outlined in the course.
